Southeast Denver's newest watering hole, Esters Neighborhood Pub, is the brainchild of Colorado beer industry veterans and longtime Virginia Village residents. The gathering space has been a dream of owner Paul Sullivan for a while. Sullivan has worked in the craft beer industry for years, including a five year tenure as New Belgium's Denver Beer Ranger. The pub's grand opening took place over the weekend with a celebration and prize giveaways like a New Belgium bicycle.
Esters boasts a broad appeal for its diversified clientele. Families are welcome (kids eat for free on Tuesday nights) and beer snobs will revel in the twenty-two rotating tap handles ranging from New Belgium's La Folie to Odell's Myrcenary. A creative cocktail menu including multiple beer cocktails is available, as well as a reasonably priced wine list. The food presents a fresh take on traditional pub fare and is completely scratch-made in house.
