Twenty month-old Session Kitchen, a restaurant owned by the Breckenridge--Wynkoop group, will close its doors in a mere two weeks. The ownership will likely sell prime piece of real estate located at 1518 South Pearl Street.

The Wash Park community board was buzzing about the impending closure this weekend and a very reliable inside tipster confirmed that the eatery helmed by chef Scott Parker, formerly of Table 6, will indeed leave the dining scene after service on July 12.

While we have yet to talk to the ownership of the restaurant, sources say the group offered the Session Kitchen staff positions at other Breckenridge-Wynkoop sites.

UPDATE: This official statement was just received:

Session Kitchen, located at 1518 South Pearl Street, is closing its doors next Sunday, July 12. The restaurant was recognized by many publications as one of Denver's best, and well-known for its inventive menu and bar program. It is a popular destination spot for diners on weekends, however its weekday sales are too low to sustain business.

It's been an honor to operate in the community-driven Old South Pearl neighborhood, and we can't thank our customers and neighbors enough for their support.

Session has a talented group of employees, and Breckenridge-Wynkoop is currently providing Session staff members with opportunities at its other concepts.
