When bartender Sean Kenyon will unveil the Occidental later this summer, the cocktails won't be the only highlight of the neighborhood bar located next door to Williams & Graham at 1950 W. 32nd Avenue. The team who is opening the Way Back, led by Chad Michael George, who spent the last two years working at Williams & Graham, along with partners Kade Gianinetti and Jared Schwartz, has been enlisted to curate the food program at the Ox, as Kenyon affectionately calls the new bar.
This past weekend, at the Denver Flea Market, George and his partners tested out some menu items for the upcoming bar LoHi bar. There were hamburgers, turkey wings, chili fries, shrimp kebabs, sweet potato ice cream, and more, all of them priced reasonably between $3 and $8. How many of these will be staples of the menu at the Occidental isn't set in stone yet, but the approachable drink-friendly vibe of the food menu is very clear.
In the meantime, here's a quick video on the construction progress from the Occidental, uploaded onto the bar's Facebook page three days ago.
A short walk through, progress update
