A medicinal-looking pink and white cross is your beacon for brioche doughnut creations in the very near future. Habit Doughnut Dispensary, a new doughnut emporium located in the former Paris on the Platte space will offer a sweet, savory, and seasonal brioche doughnut selection later this month. Directly next door, its liquid sister, Carbon Beverage Cafe, will open at the same time with an incredibly sexy tap system of beer, wine, cocktails, and coffee, plus a concise yet creative food menu of sandwiches, salads, and small plates. Both establishments will open with rock star hours of 6 a.m. to midnight to satisfy your every craving at every hour.
Opening beverage manager of Habit and Carbon, Kyle Duce, shared details about the LoHi spots that will set them apart from the many options Denverites have, like the state-of-the-art draft system at Carbon. With twelve taps and everything on draft, it would seem that choices would be limited, but that is certainly not the case here. Draft cocktails can be customized upon ordering with house-made bitters, herbs, shrubs, salt and/or sugar rims, and unique garnishes. Beer taps will rotate through local breweries with high frequency and two local coffee roasters will always be featured.
The two concepts are already talking expansion to up to 20 locations with a second one coming before the end of the year in the Golden Triangle neighborhood.
For now, keep your eyes out for the pink and white cross of the Habit food truck roaming the streets of Denver. The Habit truck will be serving the same brioche doughnut creations as the LoHi spot as well as cold brew craft coffee, salted grapefruit kombucha, and cocktails. And it could be out sampling the goods as early as Tuesday.
