- Soft Opening at The Nip & Sip Neighborhood Lounge kicks off Friday, July 10 at 3 p.m. and runs all weekend. The Nip & Sip is brought to you by the folks behind popular establishments The Horseshoe Lounge, The Bar Car, Inga's Alpine Lodge, and the former Centennial Tavern/Jonesy's. With $2 domestic drafts and $3 imported and craft brews pouring all weekend, this is a soft opening that is not to be missed.
- Berkeley Beer & Spirits mini-FEST is returning this weekend to Tennyson Street. On Saturday, July 11 starting at 2 p.m., Local 46, Berkeley Business Association, and Horseshoe Craft & Flea Market present a post-market event featuring beverages from local breweries and distilleries as well as barbecued fare from CavemanChefs. Tickets are $15 and proceeds benefit the Tennyson Berkeley Business Association.
- Special Friday at Lakeside Amusement is happening this Friday, July 10. Special Fridays at this old school neighborhood theme park mean early opening (11:30 a.m.), reduced rates, and unlimited rides so that larger groups of all ages can enjoy the park. Lakeside encourages you to bring your own picnic lunch or eat and drink at one of the many refreshment stands located within the park.
- Arts and Cats at Denver Cat Company will coax out your artistic side on Saturday, July 11. The theme for this session is "Klimt-Style Kitties," and you might even go home with a new feline friend.
- Pie of the Month at Hops & Pie is a summer beauty with an extra virgin olive oil and herb base, sopressata, heirloom tomatoes, chili flakes, fresh mozzarella, roasted garlic cloves, basil, and baby arugula in a sherry vinaigrette. This Berkeley hot spot always features an impressive draft list to wash down this month's pie.
