EAST COLFAX — Fiction Beer Company will release Ales for ALS IPL on Saturday, July 11 at their Denver taproom starting at 3:00 p.m. Fiction is one of three beer companies selected to participate in the 2015 Ales for ALS fundraising program, which has a goal to raise $300,000 for ALS research. The taproom is open from 2 to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
BOULDER — Blank Plate Boulder will host a Summer Night Pop-Up Cafe on Saturday, July 11 from 6 to 10 p.m. Interested in attending, but want more information? This event will only reveal the location right before the event and the food and drink selection is left as a surprise. A required $90 donation includes a multi-course meal with libations, which are again, to be announced. Reserve a spot online early as this event tends to sell out.
SOUTH PEARL — A farewell pig roast hosted by chef Scott Parker will be held on Saturday, July 11 to commemorate Session Kitchen’s last evening of service. This buffet style meal will begin at 5:30 and will include a full pig roast, corn bread, fried green tomato sandwiches, barbecue beef ribs, three-bean salad and more. Bartenders are also planning on going out with a bang and will be prepared to make just about anything guests request. Dinner costs $20. DOWNTOWN — The celebration of the weekend continues at the Tavern Downtown with Sunday in the Sun, every Sunday on their rooftop patio from 12 to 5 p.m. There will be a live DJ, grilled sliders for $1, and $2 hot dogs offered from 2 to 5 p.m. along with backyard games, minute-to-win-it contests with prizes like gift cards to concerts and Rockies game galore! Food and drink specials will also be available to add to the Sunday Fun-day celebration.
DOWNTOWN — The Denver Art Museum will remind the public that not all flowers are for admiring and smelling but rather for eating, with their Cooking with Flowers event on Sunday, July 12. The DAM is collaborating with the American Culinary Federation Colorado Chefs Association to present a series of cooking demos in the outdoor Martin Plaza that will show guests how to include flowers in recipes.
