Past and Present Come Together at The Nip & Sip Neighborhood Lounge

Check out Berkeley's new old classic, opening this weekend.

On the corner of 44th and Yates in the hot Berkeley neighborhood, The Nip & Sip Neighborhood Lounge will open its doors this Friday, July 24. The new haunt is housed in what was once an iconic Berkeley dive bar, Rosa Mia. The management team behind The Nip & Sip is incorporating elements of the building's past life into its current incarnation in a fusion of past and present.

The sprawling mural on the side of the classic brick building is a subtle nod to the former Rosa Mia. The name of the new neighborhood bar is a tribute to the owner's grandfather, Napolean Crawford, known to most as "Nip." The space will also showcase much of the old furniture from the former Jonesy's in its retro chic atmosphere. Come out this weekend to fuse past with present and celebrate The Nip & Sip Neighborhood Lounge's grand opening with music from DJ Scott Damnit.
