One of this summer's most anticipated restaurant openings, Milk & Honey, is already generating plenty of buzz amongst Denver's restaurant-goers. If you've heard anything regarding the new hot spot, the words: "foie gras bon bons" have most likely come up.
The Location Review: Many of Milk & Honey's reviewers highlight the subterranean setting in their positive reactions. "Delicious food, wonderful elixirs and tonics (cocktails). Recommendation: try a little bit of everything or you'll miss out. Lamb belly, mussels, and a Love Potion #10 will be guaranteed to make you agree. Best part is location: hidden away from the main street, and a beautiful scenery for a warm day." [Google +]
The Critical Review: The Denver Post's food critic, William Porter, also had overall very positive things to say on the topic in his critical review: "Shiell and his team are putting out terrific food, and this much-anticipated restaurant is living up to all the chatter that preceded its opening. If you are serious about food, Milk & Honey is a culinary land of plenty." [The Denver Post]
The Still Hungry Review: It was hard to find a negative review on Milk & Honey, but one Yelper speaks out: "Was really looking forward to checking out a new restaurant in the neighborhood. Unfortunately it was really disappointing. The hostess was nice and so was our server, so that's a plus. Other than that, not many more positives. The food took over an hour to arrive after we had ordered and the manager didn't seem to think it was much of a problem. Some money was taken off the bill but it was too late. We left tired and still hungry." [Yelp]
The Sultry Swanky Review: Zagat formulates its restaurant reviews based upon compiled individual user reviews and here is what they had to say about Milk & Honey: "...a lively environment that's part sultry restaurant, part swanky lounge. Along with a smartly curated beer list and fascinating cocktails that favor house-made tonics and elixirs, there's also an extensive sparkling, champagne and wine list." [Zagat]
The Good Weird Review: "The food and drinks here... Are unique, and subtly familiar at the same time. The Oxtail Tortellini is euphoric. As is their namesake cocktail... The Milk and Honey 'tonic' (as it's listed on the menu) is the weirdest (in a good way) cocktail I've had in a long time." [Yelp]
