LoHi's newest wine-centric establishment, Postino WineCafe, will open its doors at 17th and Erie on Wednesday, August 26. Postino is a concept hailing from Arizona that focuses on wine, but also small dishes that complement the beverage program.
An integral part of the Postino concept is to incorporate elements of the past life of the building in with the wine bar. In the case of the new Denver location, which is housed in what was formerly the historic Denver Book Binding Company, the wall of books that offsets the kitchen is particularly reminiscent of the building's rich past. Other thoughtful touches include the opulent light fixtures and vintage furnishings. The space is open and airy with expansive garage doors and a large outdoor seating area.
The menu at Postino is decidedly Italian-influenced and intended to pair well with the vast selection of wines, around 60% of which are exclusive to Postino. Bruschetta boards, small plates, salads, sandwiches, and decadent desserts are some of the gastronomical offerings. Weekly specials and promotions are set to be hugely popular at the new spot as well. Everyday from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Postino offers $5 glasses of wine and pitchers of beer and on Monday and Tuesday evenings after 8 p.m., patrons can indulge in a bottle of wine and a bruschetta board for only $20.
Open every day at 11 a.m. as well as for weekend brunch, Postino will surely be a space for all times, whether sharing a $5 glass with a friend, date night dinner, or after hour specials.
