SOUTH BROADWAY — Charcoal’s executive chef, Patrik Landberg, is channeling his Swedish roots by throwing a tradition Swedish crayfish boil and buffet on Saturday, August 29. Typically referred to as a ‘Kraftskiva,’ this end of summer celebration includes lots of eating, drinking, singing of Swedish drinking songs, and crayfish-inspired decorations through the restaurant. Along with the endless supply of crayfish, the buffet will alos feature Swedish meatballs, different varieties of Herring, Jansson Delight and other Swedish offerings. DOWNTOWN — Colorado’s first major Upcycling Festival, Pallet Fest, will take place at the Sculpture Park in the Denver Performing Arts Complex from Saturday, August 29 to Sunday, August 30. What most would consider trash has been "upcycled" and put on display to remind guests of the world of possibilities, including the humble wood pallet. There will be food trucks and beer, local art and artists, performances from 6 live bands, a 2-day wooden pallet build-off competition and more. Admission is free and VIP tickets can be purchased online starting at $35.
COPPER — The 31st Annual Genuine Jazz and Wine festival will take place from Friday, August 28 to Sunday, August 30 at Copper Mountain Resort. National jazz musicians Peter White, Paul Taylor, Euge Groove, Kim Water, Nick Colionne, Marc Antoine and more will provide the tunes throughout the weekend, with food and wine tastings occurring throughout each day. Weekend passes are $195 per person and Saturday-only tickets are $139 and can be purchased online.
