Wine and Beer Dinners, Plus a Breakfast Challenge

BOULDER — Tonight, Frasca Food and Wine features Italian wine producer Giovanni Pasquero Elia of the winery Paitin. The team will pour Arneis, single vineyard Barbera, and Barbaresco. The Monday Night Wine Dinners cost $50 per person for four courses (not including the optional wine pairings, which range from $45-$50 per person). Reservations can be made by calling 303.442.6966.

LOHI — On Tuesday, September 15, Root Down will hold on to summer with a special rosé wine dinner. Menu highlights include Bouchot mussel Escabeche with kale dolma, paired with Domaine Skouras, "Zoe", Agiorgitiko/Moschofilero Rosé and MacFarlane Farms pheasant roulade with foie gras mousse, paired with Wilde Farm, Dolcetto/Pinot Noir/Tocai Friuliano Rosé. The five course menu is $75 per person and reservations can be made by calling 303.993.4200.

RINO — On Tuesday, September 15, Acorn is hosting a beer-paired dinner in collaboration with Goose Island. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and features five courses paired with five beers. For reservations to the $75 per person dinner, call 720.542.3721.

LOHI — 135 chefs in 135 cities are competing in the Hometown Breakfast Battle, including Denver's own Matt Selby of Central Bistro and Bar. Those interested in the competition can check out the submissions and vote for their favorite online. Selby entered a smoked brisket creation served on Thomas' English Muffin. Other Colorado participants include David Roth from Peach's Corner Café in Aspen, David Baudier from Merle's Restaurant in Littleton.
