The Business Development Committee that delayed an application for a Chick-fil-A location at the Denver International Airport, gave it the thumbs up yesterday, the Denver Post reported. The two week hold up , attributed in part to apprehension for the company's opposition to same sex marriage, put the issue in the national spotlight and created strong local backlash.
Council members concerned about the operators' nondiscrimination policies, as well as about Chick-fil-A's past political activity, did extensive research and in the end no longer had concerns about the deal.
If all goes well and the full City Council approves the deal in the coming weeks, DIA will get its own Chick-fil-A in Concourse B by next summer.
