Globe Hall, a Texas-style barbecue eatery, dive bar, and music hall, is coming to Globeville this fall. Owner Jeff Cornelius will be initiating his final fundraising push by offering free beer for life to a small number of "Founding Lodge Members." This innovative approach to securing funds for Globe Hall is intended to build a base of loyal supporters and regulars. For $500, investors will receive two beers for free every time they come in, invitation to the pre-opening party, and other members-only memorabilia and benefits.
When Globe Hall opens it will effectively be continuing in the growing trend of barbecue in Denver. It will be one of three different barbecue eateries to open this fall alone, alongside Carve Barbecue on Colorado Blvd and mobile barbecue purveyor, Turn-In. Even RiNo's newest hot spot, Finn's Manor, features a barbecue-oriented food truck, Owlbear, amongst its other mobile food purveyors.
Some barbecue food trucks in Denver have even converted into brick-and-mortar eateries, not unlike Big Country BBQ in Sunnyside. If Big Country's success is indicative of the growing market for barbecue fare in Denver, we can hope to see more successful openings and booming barbecue business.
