At 11:30 a.m., Hops & Pie, the popular Berkeley pizza and beer emporium is hosting A Taste of Sunking! The event includes the tapping of several unique beers, including Grapefruit Jungle, Velour Soccer Mom, Indy Weiss, Velvet Fog, Afternoon Delight & P-Funk.
Starting at 11 a.m., World of Beer LoDo is handing over no less than 50 taps to New York City based Evil Twin. The five year old brewery founded by Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø exports its beers to twelve countries but does not have an easy time keeping up with demand.
WICKED WEED AND RARE BARREL CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT
From 12 to 4 p.m. today, Wicked Weed and Rare Barrel are going head-to-head against one another in a corn hole tournament judged by New Belgium Brewing. The event is hosted at the RiNo Yacht Club. The bar will feature one beer from each brewer on tap. Three additional sours will be on tap at Crooked Stave.
At 4 p.m., Freshcraft is hosting a special afternoon with two great producers of sour, funky, and wild beer, Casey Brewing & Blending and Side Project. On draft, the LoDo brewpub will have Casey's Apricot Fruit Stand, Montmorency Cherry Fruit Stand, Blackberry Fruit Stand and Side Project's Marietta, Pulling Nails, and Saison Du Ble. Several bottles from both breweries will also be available.
DENVER BEER ICE CREAM FESTIVAL
If you want to ween yourself off beer but not go cold turkey, head to Sweet Action between today and September 27 for the 7th annual Denver beer ice cream fest. Seven brand new beer ice cream flavors made with beer will be served. The local breweries featured in ice cream are TRVE, Baere, Renegade, Strange, Copper Kettle, Wit's End, Former Future. 6 packs of ice cream pints can be purchased (for pick up only) at sweetactionicecream.bigcartel.com.
