The day has come: the iconic Denver Diner is reopening today in grand style after nearly a year off. The spot located right off Colfax and Speer at 740 West Colfax Avenue closed last October due to a kitchen fire. The owners, who have been running the place for 24 years, took the need for repairs to heart and initiated a major remodel of the greasy spoon.
What 1.4 million dollars bought them is a lot of new equipment, lighting, and flooring, comfy booths, and large tvs. Highlights of the revamped place include the addition of a liquor license and new menu items like the creamy Cajun chicken pasta and shrimp.
Fear not, the large pie case and the old school chrome cash register are still there greeting guests. The Denver Diner will be open 24/7 daily with a Christmas Day closure.
