In honor of Women's Equality Day late last month, Forbes released a list of ten of the most ass-kicking, no-nonsense female chefs of the moment which included none other than Denver's own Jennifer Jasinski. The article specifically mentions Jasinski's Denver-based charity, Work Options for Women (WOW), in a nod to women who are inspiring positive change in the culinary world and beyond.
In other news, Bon Appetit ran a feature on The Source and the people with the vision behind it. The Source been a has been called a huge catalyst in transforming the once industrial, forsaken part of town into a cultural destination. Part of the vision for The Source was to bring consumers face to face with the artisans whose products they buy. One of the artisans at the Source, Western Daughters Butcher Shoppe, was also featured in a recent Bon Appetit article.
OpenTable utilized its vast network of verified users to compile a list of the 100 best restaurants for foodies in America, and the findings feature some beloved Colorado dining establishments. Acorn, Blackbelly Market, The Kitchen, Ophelia's, the Plimoth, and the Populist made the list along with some of the most acclaimed restaurants in the country today.
