Brave the Cold for Killer Weekend Events

Live music, artisan bread, anniversary parties and more are on the agenda for this snowy weekend.

EAST COLFAX – On Saturday, January 9 from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., Mezcal will be hosting a live performance by the talented Tito del Barrio Malaga. The event is free of charge and will include a late night happy hour. Call 303.322.5219 to reserve a table.

GOLDEN – Grateful Bread is kicking the year off right with extra retail hours on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., giving loyal followers a chance to stock up on rotating options of specialty breads and baked goods made with whole grain heirloom flours milled in-house. RINO – This will be a very special weekend indeed for Crooked Stave. The premiere sour brewery is celebrating its fifth anniversary throughout this week and weekend with tons of special tappings, thoughtful food pairings and an overall good time. SUNNYSIDE – Who doesn't love a good chili cook-off? Diebolt Brewery will be hosting its inaugural version on Saturday, January 9 from 1 to 3 p.m. Interested chili cooks can email matt@dieboltbrewing.com to enter into the competition, and those who would like to sample and vote on the best iterations can buy tickets at Diebolt's taproom or online.

LOHI – The Kids DIY Pizza Party at Denver Deep Dish LoHi is a blast for both kids and parents. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., kids get to go nuts making their own pizzas while parents can calmly sip on adult beverages. For more information on pricing and specials, see the event's Facebook page.

RINO – The warehouse space at Logan House Coffee's production facility and coffee shop in RiNo is the perfect setting for some Sunday morning yoga. For $20, yogis can partake in one hour of stress-relieving yoga with Danielle Numis, followed by specialty coffee drinks and cocktails made with Logan House coffee and food from La Filette. Tickets can be purchased online.

RINO – Ratio Beerworks will help get your butt out of bed on Sunday morning with coffee, doughnuts, and beer. From 12 to 3 p.m., Method Roasters, Habit Doughnut Dispensary, and Ratio Beerworks will be joining forces in a tasting event which includes two pairing trifectas, one sweet and one savory for $12. Tickets can be purchased at Ratio, Carbon Beverage Cafe (sister restaurant to Habit) or at the event itself. For details regarding pairings, check out the event's Facebook page.
