Look Inside the Brand New Public School 303

The best kind of education is one focused on food and beer

A full restaurant and bar, Public School 303 or PS303 is now open in LoDo at 1959 16th Street. "An education in the art of food and beer" sounds like something adults can get excited about and that is exactly what the California-based restaurant and bar concept is going for, as it shows through nostalgic education-central elements sprinkled liberally throughout the space.

There is a massive solar system mural, stacks of books everywhere, ruler-lined menus and even takeout boxes labeled as homework. There are also globes and diagrams and microscopes and even bookends with alphabet themes- A to Z, plus clipboards and lockers. The menu plays into the same throw-back to school idea with cafeteria classics like tater tots and mac 'n cheese and childhood favorites like pizza, burgers, and bangers and mash. Make no mistake though, the options are elevated and diverse and the beer list is top notch.

This is not Denver's first school-themed bar. Check out School House in Arvada and Recess Beer Garden in LoHi, but for now, here's a look inside PS303:
