Mell’s Cheese Closed its Doors in LoHi

Last October, Paula Dick launched Mell's Cheese at 3000 Zuni Street in in Lower Highland. As of last week, the cheese and specialty store and eatery is no more. A very brief note on the door tells possible customers and guests that the shop if out of business and thanks them for their patronage. The quaint space is still filled with chairs and tables and other furniture and it even looks like a few sweet treats are next to the cash register but there is not a soul in sight and calls to the shop remained unanswered. The website and Facebook page of the business are also no longer working.

Named for Dick's grandfather, Mell's offered lunch and dinner featuring a variety of cheese and salumi boards, plus several sandwiches and salads along with a fun and interesting wine selection. A retail section offered the chance to take home some of the items offered, including cheeses, crackers, meats, and more.
