Ohana Island Kitchen Gets New Digs in LoHi

Here's a look at the first day back in business

Everyone is going poké-crazy for Ohana Island Kitchen. The Hawaiian-inspired eatery reopened yesterday after a three week hiatus in a new location of its own. Born as a window counter operating out of the Truffle Table in LoHi, Ohana now has grounds of its own just across the street at 2563 15th Street, in the former Jay's Patio Cafe.

The space may be small, just a meager 1,000 square feet, but there is seating for 20 inside now and an opportunity to seat more outdoors as well, a big change from just a couple of picnic tables outside. And there is also a full kitchen, something owners Owners Louie and Regan Colburn did not have before.

For now, the menu for the new digs includes the Kahlua pork bento box, an Aloha kale entrée salad, king Hawaiian sliders, and three kinds of poké bowls. There are also several sides, including spam musubi.

Later on, seven days a week service plus breakfast will be added to the line-up. And in the spring, Hawaiian shaved ice will also be served. Here's a look inside:
