Hungry Bear Kitchen Replaces Mary Jane’s Pizza

The drama ran high as this change took place at the Wrangler

Mary Jane's Pizza

As the Wrangler relocated from its longtime digs in Uptown to 3090 Downing Street earlier this year it brought with it pizza spot Mary Jane's, which started operating there in early September. At the beginning of the summer, the cultish late night joint had lost its space in the Highland neighborhood as part of the redevelopment of the Dickinson Plaza corner and it appeared that this location in the Whittier (not Cole as the article originally stated) neighborhood would be a great fit for all involved. Unfortunately for owners Greg Kennedy and David Llano that was not the case and with a sub-lease deal gone bad, the pizza spot was left homeless once again by the end of October.

Later in November, a new tenant popped up in the same space: Hungry Bear Kitchen. A no-frills casual eatery, the spot serves pizza, sandwiches, salads, soups, and other items in the same space. It is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

Mary Jane's is still looking for a new location.
