When you are a 42 year old institution of fun and absurdity, all bets are off when it comes to holiday decorating. Casa Bonita, known for its outrageous cliff divers, sopapillas, and arcades got all festive from top to bottom, from the entrance to each stage, pulling all the stops from Santas and snowmen to nativity scenes and blinding strings of green lights decorating the fake palm trees. The photo gallery provides a look inside what is the holiday season at the spot set in a strip mall on West Colfax.
The enormous quirky Mexican-themed restaurant set inside a pink tower can seat over 1,000 guests. Among its main features and attractions, Casa Bonita proudly lists a 30-foot waterfall and team of cliff divers. Casa Bonita was featured on a 2003 South Park episode, further contributing to its icon status. In 2015 it was named a historical landmark by the Lakewood Historic Society.
