The end of the year will mark the last service at Il Posto in its original location in Uptown, Westword reported. Chef Andrea Frizzi is packing up his Italian ingredients and moving his ten year old business to the RiNo neighborhood in a contemporary space that is in the process of being finished. The anticipated opening for the 2.0 version is Il Posto is January.
Fans of the 17th Avenue restaurant scene will not get to mourn the loss of a neighborhood eatery for very long. Longtime chef and restaurateur Radek Cerny is taking over the quaint space to open a new French-influenced venture: L'Atelier by Radex. This will mark a return for Cerny to Denver, where some two decades ago he marveled diners with creative cuisine at Radex off Lincoln and 9th. Since the closure of that restaurant, Cerny has been operating L'Atelier in Boulder on Pearl Street, across from Frasca Food and Wine. The chef sold that business and plans to make his Mile High City debut on March 1.
