Chef Justin Goerich will compete on Chopped, the Food Network's popular culinary competition, on Thursday, December 29. This week's challenge, "Wild Times," will highlight the traditional ingredients favored by hunters and foragers. Along with three other chefs, Goerich will riff on mystery basket ingredients like flowers, a wild beast, roots, and berries to craft an appetizer, entree, and dessert. The episode will air at 9 p.m. EST.
Chef Justin Goerich attended the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York then worked at Boulder's Flagstaff House, Mashomack Fish and Game Reserve in New York and Jax Fish House before settling into the Zolo Grill kitchen. The southwestern grill is well established as a favorite within the Boulder dining scene due to its relaxed, welcoming environment and well-executed, flavorful foods.
Other Colorado chefs recently competed on the show, including Kathy Poland from The Taste Of the Philippines who appeared on the November 8 episode and Flagstaff House chef de cuisine Chris Royster, who won an episode that aired on November 22.
