At the end of the week, executive chef Vincente Sosa, and consulting chef Dana Rodriguez of Work & Class will be unveiling Que Bueno Suerte! The brand new restaurant set in the former Session Kitchen at 1518 South Pearl Street brings innovative Latin American cuisine to the Platt Park neighborhood.
Guests should expect a menu of modern eclectic small plates and entrées ranging from hamachi aquachile (a spicy crudo variation) and cocktail de camaron (shrimp cocktail) to multiple kinds of tacos, tamales, and desserts like flan and quatro leches pastel con pina.
The bar team led by general manager Jennifer Wenstrom, joined by experienced staff members like Anthony Giovanni and Vanessa Combs, offers an appealing selection of wine, beer, and cocktails. While classic Mexican spirits like tequila and mezcal are a highlight, there is a wide selection of beverages to choose from.
The space got a major redo but elements of the old restaurant, including some of the red accents and the sculptural lights hanging from the ceiling remained in the space. Seating for the big restaurant
Que Bueno Suerte!, which is owned by Mission Yogurt's Rod Tafoya, will serve dinner, it will offer a late-night component. A brunch will be part of the offerings down the line.
