Ice Cream Shuffles: Twisted Cream Shutters; Frozen Matter Heads Uptown

The boozy ice cream stopped flowing on Colorado Boulevard.

Twisted Cream, the alcohol-infused ice cream shop that opened its only brick and mortar in May, 2015 at 835 Colorado Boulevard is no more. The shop was founded in 2013 by Davic Clark, Chris Taub, and Christian Sigrist. Their goal was to bring to guests and restaurants and bars that served their creations a great cocktail infused into an adult novelty dessert. Now the lights are off and a sign lets passersby know that the 2,000 square foot space is available for lease.

When one door closes, another one opens though. Later this winter or early spring, Frozen Matter will join the Denver ice cream fray in Uptown at  530 East 19th Avenue. Owned by ice cream lovers Josh Gertzen and Geraldine Kim, the shop set at 19th and Pennsylvania describes itself as a cow to cone operation where a high price is put on ingredients and a small batch approach is paramount. When it opens, guests should expect handcraft ice cream, ice pops, and soda.
