The bar area at downtown favorite Panzano got a fancy makeover that brought expanded seating, a new leathered granite bar top, marbled tile backsplash, gorgeous new glassware, and a seriously revamped cocktail program.
New bar manager Derek Lovell led the cocktail program changes that include the addition of a variety of syrups and shrubs made in-house and a fancy new Kold Draft ice system that produces clear square ice cubes for some of the drinks. Along a new selection of some 20 amaros, Lovell added drinks like the Italian Silk (vodka, vanilla-fennel shrub, grapefruit, lemon, fennel bitters, and soda) and Incontrare (tequila, campari, blood orange liqueur, lime, blood orange soda, and black Hawaiian sea salt).
On the food side, chef Elise Wigging crafted a menu that can only be enjoyed in the bar and not the dining room. Among the highlights are rabbit porchetta, osso bucco ravioli, and black truffled gnocchi.
