Argyll Whisky Beer, the Uptown pub owned by restaurateur Robert Thompson, and Olive & Finch, a casual eatery from chef Mary Nguyen, landed in hot waters with the Health Department twice last year. In its weekly Restaurant Report Card, Fox 31/KDVR reported that both places got an F on its report card with respectively 16 and 13 critical violations during its two most recent regular inspections in July 2015 and January 2016.

At Argyll, the health inspector noted a dead mouse in a trap, 20-40 rodent droppings, as well as booster seats, napkins and trash bags in a sink that was supposed to be used for handwashing. At Olive & Finch, flies landing on clean plates and cutting boards,
employees touching ready-to-eat food with bare hands, rather than wearing gloves as required, and roasted vegetables were held at an unsafe temperature, were among the violations.

At the other end of the spectrum, with a flawless A and no health code violations in back-to-back inspections, Quiznos at 14715 West 64th Avenue in Arvada.
