Boulder-born restaurant The Kitchen was named one of the top ten most innovative food companies in the world by Fast Company. Publishing 10 print issues per year, Fast Company is an American business magazine that maintains a strong online presence, focusing on technology, business, and design. Fast Company releases an annual guide of businesses that matter the most in various sectors like entertainment, media, sports, technology, and food. Companies like Coravin, a cork-free wine preserving system, and Impossible Foods, which create plant-based food for carnivores, were named in the food category alongside The Kitchen.
Last week, The Kitchen was in the spotlight for a very different reason. The restaurant has launched a legal trademark battle against celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck. Owners Kimbal Musk and Hugo Matheson are challenging Puck's use of the name The Kitchen in existing and upcoming ventures. Details on the legal spat are here.
On March 4, the Denver outpost of the restaurant will host Jean Foillard, a legendary gamay producer from Beaujolais, for an exclusive four-course, paired wine dinner. Festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m. and Foillard will be a guest of honor for a small group of diners. 24 tickets are available for $75 per person.
