Cafe Max, a cool and confident coffee shop with a carefully curated snack menu has edged toward a subtle but substantial transformation, complete with a name-change to Bar Max, 5280 Magazine reported. After long-time chatter and meticulous planning modifications to both the space and servings have been unveiled by owner Max Hopewell-Arizmendi.
The front counter now functions as a bar where patrons can cozy up and take a load off on new stools. The communal entryway has transitioned to a lounge for guests to relax, eat, drink and authentically connect. Laptop users are now asked to enjoy the downstairs space.
Food offerings range from organic pear french toast with smoked maple bacon to an affordable but satisfying Mediterranean plate, with hummus and the fixings with warmed ciabatta. Bartender Raffaele Stuparitz pours cocktails such as the molly brown and kyoto, as well as wine, sake and bear. Both the lunch and dinner menus have expanded, as the space now opens daily at 11 a.m.
