Commuters and residents of the new development around Alameda Station have a new watering hole: The White Whale Room. Part coffee shop, part bar, part gathering space, this quiet new venue is charming and attractive.

The industrial-chic light-filled room is equipped with garage doors that open the space up to fresh air. With contemporary notes, this space features white whale-spine-like seating benches, copper chairs, small concrete tables, and abstract black and white marine murals.

Guests can enjoy a full coffee menu, creative cocktails, but also a few food items - salads, sandwiches, and a selection of popovers that include pork green chili and blackberry and cream.

Hours of operation have not been confirmed, but the spot had its soft opening this past weekend and should be in full swing later this week.
