Cory Carvatt is the new head brewer at Barrels & Bottles Brewery, a five year old company owned by Zach and Abby George in Golden. Prior to joining Barrels & Bottles, Carvatt worked in the tap room and brewery at Dry Dock Brewing Company.

“I fell in love with wine and beer while working for my parents at their liquor store,” says Carvatt. “Left with the opportunity to go to New Zealand to work a summer internship at a wine vineyard or interview for a beertending gig at Dry Dock, I decided beer was my future.”

Carvatt has already made his mark at the Golden brewery by creating in-house staples like the Orange Creamsicle Ale, a Blonde Ale brewed with orange peel and vanilla beans.

Tonight, March 22,  Barrels & Bottles is hosting a Meet The Brewer Night for Colorado Craft Beer Week. From 4 to 8 p.m., the brewpub is pouring complimentary five-ounce tastes of house beers.
