Over the weekend, The Way Back, Denver's newest watering hole and eatery opened its doors to the public. Set at 4132 W 38th Avenue, the bar and eatery is the brainchild of partners Chad Michael George, Kade Gianinetti, and Jared Schwartz, all three industry veterans with a diverse background.
While the food program designed by chefs Samuel Charles and Marcus Eng will roll out next month, the cocktail menu is ready. It includes seasonal drinks with clever names like I Would Buy That Drink a Drink, an Absolut Elyx and almond milk tart cocktail for two served in a copper pineapple; Death by Mariachi, an earthy Tequila Ocho-based drink that finishes with soft vanilla and honey notes; and the frothy, egg white Gimme a Minute, Pierre Ferrand Cognac balanced with bitter and sweet notes.
Wine drinkers have some 20 selections by the glass, including a predominantly Old World selection. Varietals from Morocco, Bordeaux, Spain, California's Central Coast and more round out the eclectic wine list. And fear not if you love beer: Eight low-alcohol draft beers, along with highly drinkable and food-friendly bottled and canned selections sourced from across Colorado.
