Ophelia's executive chef, Jeremy Kittelson, has been named culinary director of Edible Beats, a restaurant group led by Justin Cucci. Kittelson is taking the reins from Daniel Asher who is moving on to a more personal restaurant project. "I have given Edible Beats seven years of my life and it has been amazing to see the restaurants grow so much," Asher shared. "I am excited to switch gears and move to a more intimate situation, redial my own cuisine, and bring an honest, simple, and hyperlocal expression of Colorado cuisine," he continued without sharing exact details on the location or timing.
While Asher will continue to work with Edible Beats on sourcing, sustainability practices, team and community education, and new concept openings, but Kittelson is now the master of all things creative at Root Down, Root Down DIA, Linger, and Ophelia's. He will lead research efforts, overseeing menu development and implementation at each restaurant.
"My main goal [...] is to maintain the principles and values on which the group was founded, and to protect the purpose of serving our guests and our team," said Kittelson.
The chef, whose background includes positions at Chicago's legendary Blackbird, Denver's Ambria, and Beaver Creek's Westin Riverfront Resort, started at Edible Beats as executive chef at Root Down in 2012.
