As the new A Line, train to the plane, from Union Station to the Denver International Airport launched last week, so did a new way to grab food in the renovated train station. A gorgeous custom-made kiosk was added to the main hall, next to the floral one, facing the exit to the trains.
Chef Lon Symensma curated the grab and go train-friendly fare that includes meat and cheese plates, simple sandwiches, and salads like the ahi tuna one.
Union Station is about to get another upgrade: On May 6, Acme Burger and Brat as you know it will close to reopen on May 16 with a delicatessen concept also helmed by chef Symensma. The Terminal Bar is also being refined to give it a more of a German beer hall vibe.
At Acme, the new offerings will include a variety of sandwiches like the Reuben, daily soups, an array of deli salads like pasta, tuna, and egg, plus sweet treats like New York City cheesecake and black and white cookies. The Terminal Bar will serve house-made sausages, hand-rolled pretzels, cheese curds, and other beer-friendly bites.
