Subject of serious Yelp controversy in recent weeks, Onefold had a different issue to deal with on Sunday morning. A robber broke into the the Uptown spot, doing serious damage to the door and stealing the cash register, owner Mark Nery shared with Westword. The register was recovered by police and only $5 was left in it.
The casual eatery, which blends Filipino and Chinese flavors, was open on Sunday, despite the 3 a.m. incident. Recently, in collaboration with Melissa Yanc of La Fillette, Onefold started to serve dinner on the weekends. On the menu, there is chicken adobo, ceviche, kaya toast, and a dumpling flight, among others.
