After 12 years at the helm of Downtown's Panzano, chef Elise Wiggins is branching out on her own. The restaurant located inside Hotel Monaco is launching a nationwide search for a new executive chef. Wiggins is not ready to reveal a lot about her future venture, but she did share that she will be an owner on an upcoming restaurant and that the general theme will be Italian. From now until her restaurant opens, the chef is available for private cooking classes for large and small groups as well as in-home catering. She can be reached at elisewiggins24@gmail.com.
The group that owns Homegrown Tap & Dough and the several Park Burger locations has brought on Matt Selby on a full-time basis. The chef, whose resume includes some 15 years at LoDo's Vesta Dipping Grill and stints at Corner House and Central Bistro and Bar, was at the brand new Arvada location of the pizza and beer emporium last weekend, honing the dishes and operations.
Duo Restaurant has a new pastry queen: Tiffany Leong. A culinary school graduate, Leong's background includes grandparents who owned a pastry shop in Vietnam and then one in the United States once the family moved. She served as sous chef at Duo and is excited to take on the sweet challenge that is desserts.
Patrick Dunn has been named chef de cuisine at Element 47 at the Little Nell, replacing Matt Padilla who has taken the executive chef position at The Inn at Dos Brisas. Dunn is a Chicago native whose resume includes Perry Street and the Modern American restaurant run by Chef Jean-Georges in New York City. He has joined the Aspen team in 2014 and was most recently sous chef at the prestigious restaurant.
