Adelita's owner Brian Rossi will open Palenque Mezcaleria on Thursday, May 19, at 4 p.m., Westword reported. The South Broadway Mexican eatery is getting a sister booze-emporium next door, one that will focus entirely on agave spirits from Oaxaca, come 75 of which will be available here.

Other agave spirits will be offered with an emphasis on regional differences. On the tequila side, only three families will be represented: Forteleza, made in the valley region of Tequila, Jalisco; Ocho, from the highland region of Los Altos; and Del Plano, a hybrid made with highland agave at a distillery in Tequila. And if you're not feeling the agave one night, go for local Leopold Bros spirits, Laws whiskey, and Bear Creek vodka.

A small food menu with Oaxacan specialties will be offered at the bar that will be open from 4 to 11 p.m. on weekdays and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends. The entrance is through the patio next to Adelitas at 1294 South Broadway
