Post Oak Hall, a Houston-inspired casual restaurant brainchild of Ellen Daehnick of Helliemae's caramels, is coming to Wheat Ridge this summer, 5280 Magazine reported. Daehnick plans focus her efforts on recreating her hometown's po'boys.
The take-away eatery will operate adjacent to Daehnick's caramel workshop and in addition to a selection of Houston-style po'boys, icebox desserts (Hello Helliemae's salted caramel banana pudding!), kolaches, and coffee will be offered.
The spot's name references a Texas tree praised for its strong wood. The space, a former service station, is due for a makeover at the hands of Daehnick's husband, Chris who is planning to add a pressed tin ceiling accented with lone stars, shiplap paneling on the walls, and a window into Helliemae's that will turn the space into something "homey and familiar."
Post Oak Hall will initially operate solely on Saturdays and hours will expand as Daehnick gets a feel for the community. The eatery is set to open at 6195 W 44th Ave in Wheat Ridge.
