Bread, Wine, Chocolate: The Slow Loss of Foods We Love

When: Wednesday, May 4 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Denver Natural Museum of Science, 2001 Colorado Blvd
What: Author and journalist Simran Sethi shares how indulgence cripples food diversity and the influences the overarching industrialization and globalization of agriculture. Tickets are $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers.

Tacos and Margaritas Cooking Class

When: Thursday, May 5, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Uncorked Kitchen, 8171 S Chester Street, Centennial
What: The Tacos & Margaritas cooking class spices up Denver's Cinco de Mayo scene. Dishes to be taught and enjoyed include Baja fish tacos, Korean Short Rib and Kimchi Tacos, and churros with chocolate dipping sauce.

Istituto di Olio Dinner

When: Wednesday, May 11 at 6 p.m.
Where: Caffee Space at Frasca Food and Wine, 1738 Pearl Street, Boulder
What: Steve Lewis, owner of Giuliana Imports and Giuliana Direct Olive Oil, presents a night of olive oil education. Guests will taste olive oils from Northern, Central & Southern Italy and explore their flavor profiles in dishes and pairings. Tickets are $230 per person and include the tasting menu, wine flight, tax and gratuities.

Elevation Beer Fourth Anniversary

When: Saturday, May 14 from 12 - 8 p.m.
Where: Elevation Beer Company, 115 Pahlone Pkwy, Poncha Springs
What: Celebrate with special beer tappings, games, and free concerts from Trout Steak Revival and Mo'Champipple & the Miso Horns. Select beers will make their draft-only debut during the event. Eddy Out Grille food truck will provide bites.

Bean Acres Farm Dinner

When: Sunday, May 15 from 5:30 p.m.
Where: The Squeaky Bean Farm + Table Greenhouse at Acre Farms, 13300 W 2nd Pl, Lakewood
What: The Squeaky Bean serves up its local farm dinner series for May with a four-course "vegetable-forward" dinner paired with farm fresh mocktails. The dinner is limited to 60 guests and tickets are $64.80, including tax.

Charcuterie Seminar with Bryan Polcyn

When: Monday, May 16 and Tuesday, May 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily Where: Old Major, 3316 Tejon St Denver What: Join guest chef Bryan Polcyn and Old Major owner Justin Brunson for a two-day seminar covering the essentials of charcuterie selection, techniques, and methods. Presentation and menu development will also be explored. Beverages are to be provided by Deerhammer & Spring 44 Distillery while Avalanche Cheese and il Porcellino Salumi cover cheese and charcuterie. Bugs and Beer at the Butterfly Pavilion

When: Thursday, May 19 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Butterfly Pavilion, 6252 W 104th Ave, Westminster
What: The adults-only event will highlight local brewing companies such as Westminster Brewing, Kokopelli Beer Company, and Tivoli Brewing Company to be paired with treats from Modern Edge Catering and A Spice of Life Catering. The $45 ticket includes beer sampling, bites, full access to Butterfly Pavilion exhibits, and a souvenir glass

Dumpster Dinner + Dance

When: Saturday, May 21 from 5 - 10 p.m.
Where: The Studios at Overland Crossing, 2201 S Delaware St, Denver
What: Waste not is the message of this event benefiting We Don't Waste, a Colorado non-profit focused on redistributing excess food to underserved populations. Denver's finest turn food destined for a landfill into gourmet dishes; Colorado pork and beef will be provided by Tender Belly and Prosper Farms while all other ingredients will be revealed closer to the event. Live performances follow the dinner for which early bird tickets are $175.

Jax Fish House Summer Kick-Off Party

When: Friday, May 27 at 5 p.m.
Where: Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar, 650 South Colorado Boulevard, Glendale
What: The Glendale outpost kicks off summer with a 80's themed roof-top throw down. The totally tubular event features gnarly drinks and bodacious eats along with live tunes from the 80's band The Goonies.

The Slaughter 2016

When: Saturday, May 28 from 2 - 7 p.m.
Where: Rebel Restaurant, 3763 Wynkoop Street, Denver
What: Rebel Restaurant partners with TRVE Brewing for the restaurant's first pig, lamb, and goat roast. Beers from TRVE Brewing and cocktail specials accompany food, music, and games. For $40, get two TRVE beers, a heaping plate of meat with three sides, and ice cream sundaes.
