Big Country Bar-B-Que owner Darren Byrd gave up on his the Sunnyside spot and shut down operations during the last week of April, according to BusinessDen. The former food-truck operated as a restaurant for six months before officially closing its brick-and-mortar outpost.
Byrd cited multiple factors that contributed to the closure, including a personal injury and the building's faltering condition. "The transition from the food truck to the brick and mortar was kind of out of necessity because we'd lost our commissary kitchen and I had to scramble to get another place," he said. "We should have just waited to get a liquor license, but we didn't."
Byrd is currently searching for a new space to host his catering operation.
