Sneak Peek: The Thirsty Lion Prepares Cherry Creek Opening

The space has been home to several restaurants in the last few years

On Tuesday June 14, Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill, a Portland-based gastro-pub, will officially open a Cherry Creek North location. Set at 201 Columbine Street, this is the second Denver outpost of the company, with a first having launched by Union Station two years ago.

The new space is huge: Some 7,000 square feet with about 1,000 square feet being outdoor patio space where 25 guests can be accommodated with access to a fireplace seating area. Inside the space lined with dark pub-fitting furniture, walls and windows open up, giving the space an open-air feeling. Several TVs give sports fans plenty of reasons to keep eating and drinking.

Speaking of that, menu items include sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, salads, plus specialty dishes like salmon and asparagus risotto and Baja fish tacos, and more. Dishes are added seasonally and complemented by 40 craft beers on tap, many local, as well as craft cocktails and about 25 wines available by the glass with 20 additional ones available on tap.

Lunch and dinner will be served seven days a week with a brunch menu available on Saturday and Sunday.
