Rosenberg's may be temporarily shuttered but owner Joshua Pollack is not slowing down. On Sunday, June 5, Pollack will "bring pretzels to the people," with the launch of City Pretzel at the Slow Food Farmers Market.
The business on wheels, brainchild of Pollack and friends from college – Scott Matador, Blake Adams, and Michael Smuts – dishes out the East Coast specialty from inside an electric tuk tuk. Along with the soft snack, City Pretzel serves a variety of mustards and cheese sauces. Bonus: fresh pretzel dogs featuring Kosher beef links from New York City's renowned Old World Provisions, will be trackable via social media.
Future dates and locations for City Pretzel are yet to be announced but one thing is certain: This Sunday, the goods will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Disclosure: The editor is married to one of the developers behind The Source, the development in which the Slow Food Market takes place, where City Pretzel will make its debut.
