The Italian eatery closed after only nine months of business

The lights are out at the joined houses on 4900 East Colfax where Red Octave operated for only nine months, Westword announced. Owner Phil Long and the Red Octave team thanked the community for its support in a closure announcement on the restaurant's Facebook page that included this:

Thank You All for your warm welcome & support. We hate to close our doors and go, but go we must. The mountains are calling.

Phil Long is a prominent figure in the Vail music and restaurant scene. He is a part owner of the Red Lion and the Vail and Beaver Creek Chophouses. There is no word on what will replace the eatery and music venue.
