Chow Urban Grill got the thumbs up from the Denver Post in a recent review. The new contemporary American spot was praised for its tailored menu "that eats as well as it reads" with dishes including the lamb burger on a brioche bun topped with vegetables and a spicy jardinière. Chow also tackles Denver's hottest aquatic ingredient, the octopus, with the "impossibly tender" chargrilled octopus praised with a side of sliced fingerling potatoes and bacon. Despite the somewhat underdefined wine list, Chow Urban Grill is a welcome neighborhood addition.
Clay Fong at the Daily Camera welcomed Janie's Cafe to Longmont's Main Street in a glowing review. The down-to-earth breakfast and lunch diner offers traditional breakfast dishes with a healthy range of heartiness and flavors. In addition to the array of American classics, the menu offers a variety of Southwestern specialities. The smothered breakfast burrito and huevos rancheros platter impress with both their sizes and loaded flavors. When you factor in an attentive service staff with special senses for depleted cups of coffee, Janie's Cafe is set to become a Longmont staple.
