Godfather's Pizza debuted in Thornton after moving from the Denver area in the 1990's, as announced by the Denver Post. The new restaurant is located at 2350 East 120th Avenue open from 11 a.m. to either 10 or 11 p.m. seven days a week.
A popular pizzeria, the chain got its start in Nebraska and, at the hands of owner Willy Theisen and friends, grew to include more than 640 national locations. Thornton fans, eager for the pies of their youth, waited for Godfather's traditionally thick-crusted pizzas in lines up to two hours long. The menu features classics like the Taco Pie and the Humble pie but has been upgraded to include vegan and gluten-free options.
Pizzas range from $7.99 for an individual pie to $27.99 for a jumbo pie.
