After three years at 2423 S. Downing St., Maddie's is moving up in the world.
The 16-seat breakfast restaurant by fall will expand into a former service station next door, with room for 75 guests inside and 30 to 40 more on an outdoor patio, Westword reports.
Maddie's owner Gayor Geller told Westword he plans to keep the feel of the old garage as he renovates the space. A larger kitchen will allow him to add boxed lunches and catering to his current breakfast and lunch offerings. He will introduce bluegrass brunches as well as other outdoor events to the restaurant's lineup.
Geller also said he plans to introduce a new food business into the old Maddie's space, though he wouldn't share the concept yet.
