Set in the space that housed the iconic John's Restaurant at 2328 Pearl Street in Boulder, River & Woods is one of the most anticipated openings of the year. Chef Daniel Asher, along with entrepreneur Josh Dinar and his wife Kate Dinar, are planning to bring launch a restaurant that is airy and intimate while retaining historic elements of the original100 year house.
The space breaks into several areas, including a front bar for dining or happy hour, banquettes, and an in-kitchen chef's table seating eight, plus the backyard which features an open-air kitchen, yard games, kids' "treehouse" seating and a mobile bar.
Wooden beams from a Colorado silver mine span the ceiling, popped up to allow an airy, open feel. Some of the existing walls were removed and the spaces opened up; guests walking in the front door are afforded a view all the way through the newly opened space to the backyard, accessed by glass double doors. The front bar will feature the tree wall artwork with shelves as part of the setup.
The restaurant will seat 65 inside, 22 outside, and an additional 6 in the "lounge" area of the Avion trailer.
