The Lumineers are toting band-branded bags of Denver's Corvus Coffee around with them on their current Cleopatra World Tour.
While the band was recording "Cleopatra," Corvus owner Phil Goodlaxson said he sent his Everyman espresso to a studio in New York for them. Soon, the studio starting buying his beans wholesale. Now Goodlaxson has designed a "private label" of the same blend for the Cleopatra tour.
Only concert-goers can purchase The Lumineers-labeled Corvus roast.
"This kind of came out of Wes (Schultz, the band's lead vocalist) just being a big fan of our coffee in general," Goodlaxson said.
While Denver coffee drinkers won't be able to find the special edition Lumineers bags at Corvus' South Broadway shop, they can try the band-fueling espresso there under its normal name "Everyman."
It's an Ethiopian and Peruvian blend, which means berry-forward, bright, and citric notes, combined with mild, smooth, and buttery mouthfeels, according to Goodlaxson.
"It should appeal to everyone, whether you're super into specialty coffee or just getting into it."
Sort of like a certain folk-rock band?
"Everyone likes The Lumineers," he said.
