Aurora's first brewery, Dry Dock, which has been making beer since 2005, has boarded to sour train. On Saturday August 20, the staple beer house will host its first ever sour beer festival at its original South Dock digs (15120 East Hampden Avenue) where a tasting room can hold up to 180 guests.
The upcoming event is called ATown Funkfest and it begin at 11 a.m. offering sour beer heads a taste of Dry Dock favorites, but also a lineup of exciting new selections from the barrel program. Guests should expect to sample the Brett Stock Ale, Mary Rose (a sour ale), Vintage Ambassador, Black Currant Saison, Saison Brett, Sour Blonde, Swabby Sour Quad, and the Sour Apricot, among others. Flights will be offered for $12.
Like any good summer festival, this one will bring live funk music plus a 70's costume contest in which the winners for best outfits will win Dry Dock gift cards.
